Located in the heart of the Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, Kawerau Engineering Ltd was established in 1965 as a plant maintenance provider and general engineering works. Now in its sixth decade of operation, the company still provides the same high-quality, integrity-based service that it was founded on.

Quality
Kawerau Engineering is about providing a quality service to all customers, relying upon strict adherence to customer requirements and company quality systems.
To assist in achieving quality technical solutions, we have on staff qualified mechanical and welding engineers, metallurgists and a weld inspector/QA manager. All trade staff are fully qualified or in training to achieve a qualification. We also have fabrication approval from the ship classification society, Germanischer Lloyd, for our marine fabrication projects.
Our quality system is tailored to suit the company’s operations and is approved by GIC to ISO9001. Our weld procedures and operators are approved to the various American, European and Australian pressure vessel codes.
Our quality assurance strategies include:
- A trained/skilled workforce
- Continuous improvement
- Multi-level communication
- Customer focus
- An attitude of do it once, do it right
